Connemara Detailed Forecast for Thu 21 May 2026
Dense overcast conditions will dominate Connemara on Thursday with extensive rain activity. A warm front moving north will bring moderate rain late tonight transitioning to light rain and drizzle through Thursday morning. Rain will become heavier again through the afternoon with the best chance of moderate to heavy falls between 14:00-18:00, particularly across western and northwestern coastal areas. Accumulations of 5-10mm are expected widely with locally higher amounts near exposed coasts. Temperatures will struggle, reaching only 14-17?C in most areas despite the southerly flow. The saturated air mass will keep humidity very high with extensive low cloud, mist and hill fog throughout.
Southerly winds will be fresh to strong and gusty, with speeds of 20-28 kph and gusts to 32-38 kph, strongest along western coastal areas. Winds will ease slightly during the afternoon but remain breezy throughout. Visibility will be poor to very poor with drizzle, mist and hill fog affecting all areas at times. Conditions will remain damp and murky through Thursday night with further light rain or drizzle and extensive low cloud persisting. Cloud bases will remain very low on hills with tops in cloud for most of the day.
