It appears that the issue with the IREX daemon mode has been fixed.
So, you can update the entry for The Thunderbolt BBS in the various
network nodelists (if applicable) to have the CM (Continuous Mail)
flag. I use BinkP with IREX on Port 24554...please advise if you need
a different port (such as 24555 or 24556).
If you're unable to connect for whatever reason, I will still do a
regular poll once a day, shortly after 12 midnight US Central Time.
The only time this isn't done is if I'm offline for thunderstorms,
power, internet, or computer issues.
For security, I limit the connections to nodelisted entries, with
a session password ONLY. I do NOT use a TIC password, and since I'm
not a "hub", I don't have an AREAFIX password.

Due to various issues (both health and internet, among others), which
have made it extremely difficult to do BBS work anymore, I'm going to
make the following changes.
1) The BBS is LEAVING all of its message networks...both FTN and QWK,
effective immediately.
Since it's likely too late to be removed from the August 4, 2023 nodelists...The Thunderbolt BBS is to no longer be a part of these
networks, as of August 11, 2023. I no longer have the time to read,
respond, or police the message areas.
The autopostings of the various messages will cease in the coming
days from the various networks...but I will still have them locally.
Areas that I was moderator for will either revert to the co-moderator,
or the echo will shut down.
I will be sending an Areafix to the FTN hubs to turn off the message
areas in the coming days...and will no longer do a poll via Internet
Rex.
I know message areas were the original purpose of the BBS, but I
can't take care of the data anymore, due to physical limitations.
2) I am greatly reducing my time in the doorgames...going into them
only to check and fix glitch reports...otherwise, I won't play them.
3) File areas will be processed if I have new system or ham radio
files, but otherwise since uploads aren't required/needed, my work
there will be reduced. Anything that is uploaded will be scanned by
Avast before going online.
4) I will update the needed system bulletin files when required.
This basically is "one step above shut down", but I physically can
no longer devote the amount of time required to the BBS that I used
to. If my health or financial situation worsens, then I will go
offline forever, and no one will know whether I'm dead or alive.
