Hey folks,, for those who have setup the CG side of SynchroNet with Commodore CG screens.. What program are you using to create them? I have tried a few Commodore graphic creators and because Petscii on the Commodore is the opposite from the PC (ex: cOMMODORE cOLOR) it doesn't work right, I have tried CTRL A codes, which seems to work but the screens have errors after saving them such as removing spaces etc. Is there a CG Editor that you folks are using?? I know just leave the ANSI screens, I just may end up doing that and just have basic 80 column color screens but I thought I would give the world a shot..

    Thanks...

Synchronet auto-converts ASCII or CP437 files to PETSCII automatically upon dislpay to the user, or if the file is .seq file, it just sends it "as is" to the PETSCII terminal/user.

Ok thanks DM, I have a better understanding of it now.. I knew it autoconverted the ASCII or CP437, just the colors were horendous.. LOL I will be playing more with it, thinking I will just create a few basic low color files then save it as .ans then convert it with ans2asc.. I will figure something out. Thanks for the help...

This is really cool! Now how do we get ATASCII support? :)

ATASCII is so very completely different from ASCII that it would be a much bigger task (than PETSCII) to support, so no plans to do so right now.

Not even to just send ATASCII files 'as-is', no conversion required?

A BBS is much more than just 'sending files'. Synchronet, being a CP437-native BBS, would have to convert all text from ASCII/CP437/UTF-8/etc. to ATASCII, on the fly, to be compatible with a terminal that only "spoke" ATASCII. This conversion was pretty straight forward for PETSCII. Would not be so for ATASCII.
