No, neither. These are strange questions you ask.

Wildcat! Interactive Net Server added PPP (not PPPoE) support *ages* ago because they wanted to provide a sort of "ISP in a box" solution. I doubt *very* much that anyone uses the PPP feature of Wildcat! these days of ubiquitous residential and commercial Internet access. What is your interest in PPP?

Well just throwing out ideas again.
Radius is referred to the FTN Mailer,
not something else, is that correct?

Okay, but your "idea" was the in the form of a question: "Does Synchronet do X"? That's not exactly an "idea". If you have an actual idea, please elaborate.
It depends on the context. What "Radius reference" are you referring to?
There's this one (actually has some relation to PPP): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RADIUS
And this one (very differnet animal): https://sourceforge.net/projects/radiusmailer/

I guess the RADIUS they're talking about on Santronics is not important either for Synchronet.

You're not throwing out ideas. You're finding random features of other
BBS software, which you don't understand, and then asking if Synchronet has them. Is that an idea? Is the implication that this is a feature suggestion? Why are you suggesting a feature when you don't even know
what it does?
Sounds like he needs to go to another BBS package more to his liking... as he wants to have his cake and eat it, too.

I think Wildcat! is the answer. Seems that's where he pulled PPP and RADIUS from.

That settles it. You should drop Synchronet, and go to Wildcat,
seems it appears you think Synchronet is a piece of crap.

I looked all through the documentation for Firefox, and can't find much on file transfers...mainly for QWK Mail...which is the main way I
answer messages on the BBS.
I know the file transfer options with Synchronet are Xmodem, Ymodem, Ymodem-G, and Zmodem...and I think one could use FHSLINK as the fossil
Lately, in using SyncTerm, whether I set the default display to either 80x24 or 80x25, it gets skewed, and the ANSI animations don't show up properly. However, they DO show up correctly with the "Connect Via Telnet"
option via your web interface.

That's very weird. Did you update SyncTerm? If not, maybe you should. If yes, DM & Deuce will probably need more info to figure it out.

He should just pay for Wildcat WINserver and go on their message boards asking for random/unrelated features.

The telnet client in use on webv4 is Rich Parrish's excellent fTelnet:
https://www.ftelnet.ca/
("Connect via telnet" is just a button that triggers fTelnet.)
There's no need to be logged into the web interface; when fTelnet connects, you'll get the usual login process that you see if you telnet into your BBS.
It's probably simpler to just use an FTP client to connect to your
board and download the packet that way. However, if you do want to do
it this way ...
I know the file transfer options with Synchronet are Xmodem, Ymodem, Ymodem-G, and Zmodem...and I think one could use FHSLINK as the fossil
fTelnet supports YModem-G transfers, but this feature is not enabled by default. You can turn it on by editing ctrl/modopts.ini -> [web] -> ftelnet_xfer to true. Just make sure this line is present, or if set to false, changed to true:
ftelnet_xfer = true
I can't remember if the change will take effect immediately. You may
need to look for the file temp/ftelnet.url and delete it if it exists
to cause a refresh.

There's a known bug in SyncTERM v1.1 that only affects Telnet
connections and only when the status bar is visible, the terminal dimensions are *sometimes* detected by the BBS as 80x25 instead of (the correct) dimensions of 80x24. The problem does not impact RLogin or SSH logins and it has since been fixed in the SyncTERM code base.
Will you ever change your tagline??

I tried to download that from ftp://vert.synchro.net (where I also get
the sbbs_dev.zip and sbbs_run.zip from).
It crashed the browser (Firefox), and never did download.

They upgraded Firefox, and then I went to download SyncTerm 1.1-Setup, and finally got it. But, the date on the file was still for August...so, I still have the glitch as noted above...and that was the same for the download at vert.synchro.net and on sourceforge.
The glitch that I described? If yes, did you try reconnecting or using
a different protocol (e.g. SSH or RLogin) or disabling the status bar?
Rob,

I'll see if I can disable the status bar...as SyncTerm does not allow
for an 80x24 setting, unless you set it to custom, then try to enter it
that way. But, I've tried that, and it still doesn't work.
I'm not sure what you're trying to do. I was suggesting trying this (in SyncTERM):
³Screen Mode 80x25
³Hide Status Line Yes
To see if it resolves the reported issue, which I'm not sure I fully understand either.
