You can block his messages, including polls, on your own board using the twitlist.cfg and a recent build of sbbs.

Download a pre-compiled binary then, if building it is too much trouble.

1: Yes ... you are part of the Synchronet Community and have logon credentials to the wiki, so, yes.
Though, you also have access to post an actual poll :)

yep that's not working for me.
i get
/sbbs/exec/sbbs: error while loading shared libraries: libsbbs.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
then i'm pretty sure i have all the prereqs installed because i compiled this version that i'm running just fine but it barfs like a million errors when installing from scratch.
so i guess i'll stick with this version.
yep that's not working for me.
i get
/sbbs/exec/sbbs: error while loading shared libraries: libsbbs.so:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
What exactly did you do?
The first error is usually the clue you/we need to resolve it.

i cut and pasted from the wiki and did the install
i compiled synchronet in the past, dont know what it could be.
The first error is usually the clue you/we need to resolve it.
i'll give it some time and try again. it barfed out a billion errors.
this isnt my first rodeo and i've compiled and setup other sofwares for linux.

oh with the dev package i extracted and overwrote the files into sbbs\exec and it failed to start the bbs with that error when i changed dir to /sbbs/ctrl
and ran /sbbs/exec/sbbs
that's all i needed to do, right?
Cut and pasted *what* from the wiki? "The install" usually invovles downloading a GNUmakefile which checks out files from CVS and performs a build. I thought you were gonig to try an "update", which is simply
sbbs\exec and it failed to start the bbs with that error when iyep that's not working for me.

Executables go in "exec" and that that includes the library files (e.g. libsbbs.so). From http://wiki.synchro.net/install:dev Extract the sbbs_dev archive into your Synchronet exec directory, over-writing existing files
Then... "Continue with step 4 section of this page".

okay i grabbed the current text.dat and overwrote and then i
overwrote the files in sbbs_dev.tgz in sbbs\exec
i still get that error even though those files exist in /sbbs/exec and the dates are 09/14
root@linux:/sbbs# cd ctrl

so this is some weird shit.
any idea what this could be? maybe i should just backup my menus and text.dat and start from scratch.
so this is some weird shit.
Set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable to include your sbbs/exec directory.

Not necessary.

oh that's too bad. the glibc version on my server vm is 2.23.
the people on the internets say dont update to a version that isnt standard with your distro.
well in a way this is a good thing. i'll create a separate vm for my bbs like i should have done in the beginning and i'll run it on a newer ubuntu distro.
Thanks for the help. i never had to do that variable, or i dont recall doing it.
have a good one!
