I have other issues, beyond my understanding as well. I changed
Internet providers and their modem isn't alowing me to access my
local website via a name server... ie I cannot connect to my site
locally by typing joesbbs.com but I could be typing the local

your new modem doesn't do hairpinning... add joesbbs.com 192.168.xxx.yyy to your machines' hosts file... or maybe your modem has a dns section where you can add a domain name and the IP to respond with... if so, add joes in there...

Thank you, I changed the host file and it worked like a charm...
Now I have to get fTelnet running...

so are you on dsl?
Now I have to get fTelnet running...
just use the hosted ftelnet. where it uses the ftelnet servers.
please donate to rick parrish for providing the hosting for them.
you just paste the code into a web page
back ups of back ups.... Anyway, I am trying to do exactly that and now I'm getting an ftenet error sent the error off to the author and we'll see what comes of it. I think it's 2020 busting my balls on the BBS setup.

whats the error? all you do is copy and paste the generator's code in
---
The code works during the test on the fTelnet site... cut and paste, and recheck to see if the code was fully pasted over ... we're good to go.... then NOT. I am not an HTML coder... I was using a web page that worked for years and then the new code for some reason is not working.
I have tried to use a web page that has nothing on it but a header, so as to remove any issues as best I can, and I still get the error.
Anyway...
