This show has been great.
I read where Scott Bakula stated he would not be involved in the

I think there's still a chance he will, he's lost but not dead as far as

Exactly my point in my post.. He's not dead, they are definitely leaving the door open for him to make a cameo somewhere.. Especially since the last episode proved my point even more when they said Dr Ben Song is leaping into times NOT in his lifetime. Thus this gives him a chance to
go back to the lifetime of Sam Beckett to find him.. Plus now that Al's Daughter looks to have her own Imaging chamber, she too will probably be able to jump at some point.. This show is starting to get more and more intricate...
So far I'm enjoying the new Quantum Leap. I'd sure love to see them
bring Scott in for a visit!
What if they had the new kid leap into Dr Beckett for 1 episode?
They also slightly changed the way things work.. there's no longer the other person sitting in Sam's body in the "waiting room" which is a
minor functional change from the original, but given how the OG series ended, who knows on that too.
The "other leaper" at the end of the last episode was interesting, curious to see where that goes.

I watched it to, I will be honest, at first I wasn't happy about it, but then
it settled into my mind and I think it will be good. I liked what they did with
Dean Stockwell, and I like how they intertwined Sam Beckett into it, NOW the key is Al's Daughter is involved... After I first watched it, I said immediately afterwards to my wife, Al's Daughter is trying to find Sam because
Sam was the reason she was alive! Sam went back in the final episode to Al's wife and told her to wait for him. I feel like that is why the new Jumper did

Thanks... I really appreciate that review.
I've been on the fence about so many reboots. So many of them are just nothing more than trying to milk every last cent out of a dead franchise, or some kind of "reimagining" that no one but the producer could care about.
But some reboots really make it work and enhance the original story. I'm hoping that's where this ends up.... but now at least I'm not going to be skittish about giving it ago.
Ok... maybe "skittish" isn't the right word... more like "I barely have enough time as it is and Disney+ just premiered Star Wars Andor".
Yeah, that's a better way to put it. Plus a new season of Survivor, my Below Deck "*" guilty pleasure and of course, Emergency! reruns!

Nice to see it's been renewed and for season 1 additional episodes
have been ordered.

That's fair... but to counterpoint... They are trying to "fix" what "should have been". You're right about viewing life and death that way from a Christian/Biblical worldview as far as that individual was concerned, but it's also about what they might accomplish in life, offspring that "never were" due to the "untimely demise".
One could consider that if this person had not completed "God's plan"
for them yet, this could be how it gets set straight.
