    Oh wow... this is working!

I sent message/application to Avon@AgencyBBS to allow me to run a new fsxNet node ... I used to run node 172 (PattyCakeMafia), but that BBS has been dead for awhile. New Silfen Path BBS is now up and running.

This message by Josip was sent as 21:1/999 test node, but hoping SilfenPath BBS will soon be on net as a regular fsxNet member.

    Got you here! Welcome!

    Best regards
    Zip

    Thansk for your message back.

Cheers, from Columbus, Ohio. Soon to be under 30cm of snow, or so they say :)

    Howdy,

Paul is busy with personal things, so I can help you get online.

Head over to https://clrghouz.bbs.dege.au and set yourself up, as well as create your BBS (if it isnt in there already).

Once you are done, let me know and I'll give you the next steps...

    deon,

Thanks for the info. I registered Silfen Path BBS on the site you sent over.

Excluding my email address, here's all the other info I sent to Paul when registering, in case you need it.

    Real Name.....................: Petar Smilajkov
    Alias/AKA (if any)............: CloudDancer
City / Country................: Columbus, Ohio (USA)
BBS / System Name.............: Silfen Path BBS
BBS Software..................: Mystic BBS 1.12 Alpha 48
    Operating System..............: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Telnet Address................: bbs.silfenpath.com (std. port 23)
SSH Address...................: bbs.silfenpath.com (std. port 22)
    Binkp Server Address..........: bbs.silfenpath.com
Binkp Port (usually 24554)....: 24554 (std)
CRASH or HOLD traffic (select): CRASH (probably? I want stuff right away)
Website URL...................: silfenpath.com (not really useful for anything)

My Static IPv4 Address is: 23.151.152.254
My Static IPv6 Address is: 2602:fe42:0:1::254

Feel free to send me the all other info I may need to migrate from node 999 to my own.

Note, 10 years ago I had a BBS and my fsxNode ID was 172 I believe... We can probably reuse that if still free, or a new one is fine as well.

    Thanks,

    Howdy,

Thanks for the info. I registered Silfen Path BBS on the site you sent over.

    OK, you're all set up.

I've assigned you a node number, so when you log back into the website you should have everything you need on your Home Screen.

Configure your authentication details for your BBS, and then you should be able to subscribe to echo/file areas via the website or using areafix. (With areafix you can do rescans as well.)

To use areafix, sending a message to areafix@<the hub address>, (or filefix for files), with your *fix password on the subject line, and ?%HELP? in the body. You'll get a reply with commands and instructions.

You can send a netmail addressed to ping@<the hub address>, to test that your netmail is working - you'll get an automatic reply immediately.

You can also send test messages in some echoareas. For FSXnet, the test area is FSX_TST, and if you send a message addressed to 'All', with a subject of 'Test', and anything in the body, the bot will automatically reply to your message.

If you get stuck, yell out with some details and I'll see what's going on. (I'm constantly updating the site, so it's possible I havent found all the bugs yet.)
