Go Bruins!!!
I want to get into the NHL (especially after MLB wraps up), but
have a hard time watching anything other than drunken local
hockey.
It feels like a matter of practice, but it's just not something
I have much experience with as a Southerner.
Do you have anything you'd recommend?
It's opening night of the (NHL) hockey season!
I'm a Southerner now too (Florida), but was born/raised in New England, where hockey is almost a "way of life". ;-) I watch a lot of NHL games on TV, and am a season ticket holder for my local (Single-A level) pro hockey team.

Not sure what you're asking here... There are plenty of NHL games on
TV, especially if you get the cable "NHL Network" channel. :-)

I know the NHL is played in the USA and Canada, but there are players in the league from many countries. Anybody else a fan?

Oh sweet. My wife and I aren't really into following sports much
but we love going to watch the Sharks. I'll have to see if there
are any upcoming games where we can get tickets. It's like a 15
minute drive from our house so it's perfect.

My wife and I watch a lot on ESPN+. Living in Texas, all the
"standard" options revolve around Dallas.

I live in Buffalo so I'm a Sabres fan. As I type this message I'm
getting ready to watch the Sabres season opener.
I don't watch much hockey other than the Sabres and the Cup
Playoffs.
Very nice, it's great to be that close to an NFL franchise. Not cheap
to attend in person, but worth it to do once in a while. Enjoy!

Thanks! They put on a great show. And it's a trip seeing all the
colorful characters in the stands, especially when there's a game
against some big rival.
Yes indeed. The sound/lighting effects at hockey games are impressive.
I think it's the best sport to see live, with all the game noises, fast action, and occasional fights. :) Very
exciting to see in person.
