Work is underway to add network stats to the website
Usenet gateway information has been added
Echomail page has been expanded

Hopefully tonight (midnight my time) the NET 1 traffic/connections stats posted to FSX_STA will also be updated on the website.

I'll work to add further stats to the site as time/enthusiam permits.

Once they are running reliably I'll look to remove them from FSX_STA

This may happen quickly or take enough time to call Vulcan and ask for Spock.

What's the group consensus/feedback - move this stuff to the web and remove from the FSX_STA echo or leave some of it but publish it less often in the echos or ?

..also added NET daily queue stats, have separated out and tried to simplify website navigation for this, leaving scope for further reports from other NETs to be added.

I'm for BBS related information (or well, FTN network related information) available via the network as well - even though I rarely look at it. (I doubt I'd look at it on the website as well.)

I think I already disconnected from FSX_STA because I found it to be of
little value (plus, some of the messages caused issues with my ancient
system for some reason).

Having it on the site to see the latest when I want to see it seems like
a much better option.

i don't carry FSX_ADS, FSX_BOT, FSX_STA, FSX_FIL, nor FSX_DAT. never have.

i really really really dislike automated messages.

Mmm thanks, good to know some of those longer message / stats reports may cause issues for some nodes.

Having it on the site to see the latest when I want to see it seems like
a much better option.

I feel like we're a bit splt i the views shared thus far, no harm in having it in an echomail area (as we're a FTN network as such) but also on the web too for non BBS users... as you say you can always delink from echos you don't see merit in carrying on your system, so that's a good option too :)

Not a huge response to this question, but I'd call it a mixed / split view between folks who say keep it as it is, and others who don't like the echo and have delinked from it anyways.

I think we'll keep the status quo and post the stats to the echos but I am also keep to see them shared on the website to make some things about the activity on the network discoverable by a wider audience and indeed perhaps encourage curious folk to find out more about fsxNet.

Well, to be fair, some of the "on this day in music" messages were
causing issues too, so I'm not sure what it is.

But if the author ever resurfaces again with his offer of getting the the
BBS source code, I might be able to fix it.
