Wise words.. now how about some advice on getting my dogs to stop
shitting in the house while I'm asleep?
I feel for you. I only had to worry about an old dog peeing in the
house, spent the past two years monitoring his water intake and finally
bought him diapers. He had marginal kidney function, wasn't much we
needed to do except make sure he had lots of water to flush his system
and take him for lots of walks. We bought him diapers, which he didn't
mind at all, once we started calling them "pants".
I'd be on a zoom call and ask off-camera, "Sam, where are your PANTS?"
when he's slip out of them.
The only advice I could give is to get them on a poop-cycle. Feed them
in the morning and the evening, and take the food away after 10 minutes
or so. They'll get used to eating when food is put down instead of
grazing.
Schedule regular, consistently timed walks, and try to get them pooping
at the same time each day.
Lastly, buy a portable Bissell carpet cleaner, they do wonders. I
settled on a spot cleaner called Folex which seemed to to the best job
at stains.
Good Luck!
