Ok Pi masters... anyone doing any video catpure?
I've been sorting some of the gear I was using at the church back during
covid for streaming. Said USB video capture worked just fine on a windoze
box with OBS or anything else for that matter.
Its a
Bus 001 Device 022: ID 534d:2109 MacroSilicon USB Video
Driver Info:
Driver name : uvcvideo
Card type : USB Video: USB Video
Bus info : usb-3f980000.usb-1.4
Driver version : 6.1.21
Capabilities : 0x84a00001
Steadfastly refuses to provide any video in either mjpg-streamer or
u-streamer.
I'm using raspbian based on PRETTY_NAME="Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)"
Anyone had any joy with this device on any Pi? Is there mebbe a flavour its jsut going to work out of the box with? I've tried all sorts of fixes suggested in all sorts of forums with no joy.

PS: the rest of the system appears fine it'll stream from a bog standard USB camera, just not the grabber.

DOH moment...
After the previous message, I was taking part in a video conference
yesterday. While I had a standard USB camera functioning, I decided to try
the same dongle back in the windows box.
It sees the device... black image.. uh... turned out to be a simple fix, nothing to do with the capture device but the camera end. It's got a
mini-hdmi to hdmi adapter in it, and had the cable hanging out the end of
that. Poking around with the camera got me intermittant images, and
ultimately just needed strain relief on the lead to stop the adaptor getting pulled out of the camera.
