I have a Synology DS1010+ in my homelab. I did some cleaning up this
week, re-routing cables here and there, dusting out old fans, cleaning
up unused cables, and so forth.
I set up bonding on my NAS, and have 2 gig ports showing up as a single bonded pair. I was streaming video from the NAS while cleaning up, and I was able to pull the second ethernet cable without affecting the stream. When I pulled the first cable, playback stopped for about 30 seconds.
Odd.
My original plan was to have the NAS dual homed into two separate
switches in my office. One's in a router I use as an AP, the other is a desktop switch. I have 2 ethernets running downstairs from my office to
my cable modem and had thought about building some redundancy between
the two, but I'm using the second ethernet for an office phone line now.

Bonded mode only works correctly, from what I understand, with a
managed switches set to bonded on the other side. So would maybe double check you're even getting the throughput you expect.
