• Sad Pup...

From poindexter FORTRAN@21:4/122 to All on Wed Oct 7 07:40:36 2026
I took my 11 year old terrier/chihuahua mix in yesterday for removal of
a growth on his forehead and extracting several teeth due to gum
disease. Not a happy pooch. He's been sleeping and whimpering a lot.

Send some love his way and pet your pooches today.

    Absolutely!!
We've got a 13 year old lab here who's doing fine right now, but we know that some day in the near future we will have to say good bye to him.
My wife will be getting a new seeing eye dog soon so when that time comes it will be easier to put our energy into the new pup full time at that point.

We switched from tablet painkillers to liquid, he hadn't eaten yesterday
so he hadn't gotten his dose. Once he got painkillers, he started
    wagging again.

... Do you know what kind of game this is?

Best you can do is say goodbybe when the time comes knowing you gave
them the best life you could. We adopted a dog of unknown history and
age a few years back. He was a stray, had been in a house at some point
and knew how to walk on a leash, but wasn't fixed and wasn't chipped
when they found him. He was the sweetest old boy, turned out to be a
nice companion to Chilly, my other dog. He passed away after 3 years
with us - we figured he was 15 at the time - but had a couple of years
full of love, soft beds, walks and playtime.

Poor puppy. Give him a hug for me. It'll help (a bit).
