Any one watch The Game if the Year awards? Any one win a Steam Deck watching?
Is there a Game your excited to play? What did you think of the Game awards?
Hoooah! I watched it. No steam deck winner here.
Can't wait for Death Stranding 2. I really enjoyed the first one and
think its a masterpiece. Really looking forward to see what Kojima does next.
There was another game trailer in there that looked really interesting
to me: Replaced. I love the pixel-ish art style they did with that. The colors and shading and all that looked great.
Overall it seemed better than previous years. It felt a bit more like a real awards show. It has inched in that direction every year but this
year it felt like a little more polished somehow. Make no mistake
though, the Game Awards exists soley so Geoff Keighley can exploit the industry and sell ad space. Its really a couple of hours of trailers
with some typical awards in between, and some other bad awards also
(Final Fantasy XIV won for best Discord community? Like.. what is that? And there was "Most anticipated game"? Who comes up with this stuff?)
The awards themselves are often judged poorly because the media for this industry that votes on it is terrible - Last of Us 2 had no business basically sweeping the awards a couple years ago for example with the competition it had.
That aside, there were some good trailers in there and it looks like
2023 will have some exciting games coming. Final Fantasy XVI is going to be big and Judas looked really nice as well. Probably more I'm
forgetting.
