Anyone playing the early access release?
I was debating PC (because I have all versions since D1), but got it for the XBOX.

Any good? Worth the price?
Yup sure am. Loving it too. Should be on tonight. I'm Claw22000#1511
you always have been Meh then you probably won't. Its more MMO like now
Any good? Worth the price?Depends. If you really like Diablo then you will probably love it. If you always have been Meh then you probably won't. Its more MMO like now with randos out in the world with you.
I have every version since D1, but the graphics are awesome (PC/XBOX/PS) .. The gaming is fun. They decided to make it more like Elder Scrolls Online more or less. This is where you do your own thing, but able to
come across other gamers whenever, and sometimes you may need them to complete a certain task/event/scene.
I've also been playing Forespoken as well (PS).
So, I'm a little bias'd, but I would say, YES - worth it. I ALMOST
didn't get it, but glad I did.
If you have something like GAMEFLY - you can try it then keep it, etc.

I know this one is cross-platform, but are you PC/XBOX/PS?

I liked Diablo I back in the 90s. Online gaming isn't exactly my requirement for the game. I enjoyed Diablo II and respected for
upgrading its diabolic design and mood to the recent times when the game was released. D2 though was hell too long and repetitive to me, lacked of D1's crispiness.
I expected a lot from D3, but too me it was more hack&slash Planescape than Hell, long, boring and if you started it on easier difficulty
levels, basically a walking simulator. But that's ok if that game had
any convincing mood to sell.
If this is my opinion, is it worth spending some time with D4?

If this is my opinion, is it worth spending some time with D4?They brought back the designer of D2 for this one. Its back to more of
a D2 feel. Much bigger works and this game is going to get at least 2 expansions this time.
My son is currently playing it and he loves it (was always a big fan).
He's trying to convince me to buy it and play with him... :)

Not a very strong argument, but bending me a bit toward the game. If
that means the game becomes darker by mood, I may become curious.

I wish my kids wanted to play this one with me. Lucky guy.

I do feel lucky that me (at age 61) and my son (at age 32) still have a
lot of common interests, including gaming of different genres and
varities (D&D, MMO's, RPG's, etc). When he was younger we got into a lot
of games such as Starcraft, Guild Wars 1 (and later 2). We also played
quite a few PS game such as Twisted Metal. Later we fell in love with
Shadow of the Colossus - still one of my all time personal favs. Ah, the secret garden! :)
Oh, I did buy Diablo IV. I'm a bit disappointed in the limited number of characters at the moment, although I'm sure they'll address that with
future expansions. Crusader was always my choice and it's not there
(yet). I went with a Barbarian for the moment. I'm happy to report that
the cutscenes, which were sub-par in D3, are back to that wonderful cinematic quality exhibited in D2. Still early but it does look nice.

Rash together... one of the only video games I have ever played more
than once.

Do you think it's worth the full cost? I've been playing Diablo 3 Online lately to curb me from paying full cost for Diablo 4. Perhaps it's worth it?

Shadow of the Colossus rocks. Great soundtrack, I love the horse
controls (and just the fact there is a horse and that there is a
button for petting her, lol). I got so upset when she fell off the
cliff I nearly stopped playing.
Original Diablo had 3 characters and it was still great. IMO for most
games you are perfectly fine with two different character styles + a balanced one (say, a fighter type, a caster type, and a jack of all trades). Everything else is just icing on the cake.

I do know that they plan on adding at least one more character. They
are hinting at a whole new class though. They will have at least 2 expansions this time so might get your wish. Since its an in service
game it will be getting plenty of addons. Let me know if your down
for some games. I'll add you to my friends if you like?

No argument about character classes it's just that, for me, I've always leaned towards the "holy" warrior concept. You know, Paladin, Crusader,
Yep, heard that as well. I believe it's going to be a Paladin but I've heard rumors about some kind of "Blood Knight" as well. I figure they'll keep adding content so it's all good.
Team play, sure! I'm only a level 23 Barbarian right now and I usually play with my son and his friends when we can find the time...

Only you can really truly answer that.
If you are a fan, then yes get it!
If you are just a casual player, then wait or get it from a place like GameFly, etc. or play on your friend's console.
What I truly enjoyed was the sounds they used. Nostalgic! (eg. picking up potions or coins - same as prev games - brought back lots of fun/fond memories).
I remember playing D1 & D2 over PCs with my kids back in the day. Today
we can play via Internet since they are in diff states.
They are already talking about their updates to include more Character types. They will want you to start a new game to obtain them.
I paid above the cost to start early. :D I super over paid. But I
love the game so thats me. If your looking for people to meet up with
my battle Tag is Claw22000#1511 my teamspeak server is

... If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?
Thanks, if I do manage to buy it sooner then later I'll drop in.
This reminds me of a story I heard from the good old days of tabletop RPGing. As you may already know, in the begining there were only
three character classes and there was no thief (which was added in a
rule expansion)
A dude went to a convention and at at a table were they were playing
0D&D. He said he wanted to play a thief and the Dungeon Master told
him: "There is no thief class in here, but if you want to be a thief,
the only thing you need to do is to steal stuff." And so he created a warrior and stole a lot of stuff and got a blast of a time.
Same principle applies. Get an axe wielding class and learn some
healing spell, then pray for the soul of every enemy you crush.
Instant holy warrior!

Totally off-topic, so apologies but I can't see the above and not shout
"All the world's indeed a stage
We are merely players
Performers and portrayers
Each another's audience outside the gilded cage"

Niiiice!! ... now all I can hear is the guitar intro .. :(
LOL
My boys and I used to play a lot of RUSH on RockBand (XBOX) .. they
(game creators) even had the three of them (RUSH) try to play the
game -- can't remember if this was the song or not .. they failed of
course ..

Living in the limelight - the universal dream..
We did RockBand and Guitar Hero. We sure did have a lot of fun with
them. Of course, they're all "grown up" and out of the house now so those days are gone - but I've got great memories. :)
*sighs* and remembers those long 3-day weekends while not being
deployed overseas ..
"dad! can we take a break after this song - we've played 26 straight
and we want some pizza rolls" ..
LOL
Nice. Just keep this semi-comforting thought, wait till they have kids of their own. :)
