You are right. The specific ones are inside the MSGS folder.
and deleting those essentially wipes the config for the echomail area you defined in Mystic... I could be wrong but for me the JAM message files res
The settings/config for the echo area reside to other files. Those fsx_dat.idx, fsx_dat.txt, fsx_dat.jam are only the files containing the messages. No harm deleting them.
Also, rather than deleting those JAM files could you bot opt to run a rese the message base from within Mystic? Just wondering?
Reset? how? The problem is that a corrupted message is inside that message base. There are many ways to delete only the specific way or make the script by pass it... the only problem is that it may a) need a script update, which may be even more difficult for some to re-install b) be even more difficult to remove the specific message.
So deleting the complete message base.. just seems to me, the easiest way, that anyone can done. If the it was another echoarea, that was affected i wouldn't recommend that way, but because it's fsx_dat which feels and "recycles" messages, it's no harm to delete it and you don't loose anything, that will not re-appear.
Just to clarify once again... I don't thing the message base is corrupted, just one specific message. I don't know exactly how that happened, but it's not impossible and it may happen again in the future.
