Re: compiling syncterm

I bought a new rpi recently. Using a temporary sdcard, I successfully compiled syncterm and have been bbs'ing happily. A new sdcard came today and I've attempted to compile syncterm but it keeps failing. Saying that there is no target platform or something like that. I tried with 1.1,
then 1.0.
I attempted with the git version but the make process wouldn't even
start.
Couldn't get past 'make' on a raspberry pi 3b.
Am I missing something that I did the other day? Same device,
different sdcard. Didn't misspell make.
The exact error message would be a good start.
Hey brother -
I was setting up a new system and didn't have the tools yet to post the
actual error. I had to swap sdcards and post the message then and was
working off memory.
Anyway, meatlotion's script fixed the problem.
And then.
This evening, I was checking out memory uilization on my new machine and
was systematically closing programs, then relaunching them again. I'm
running everything on an rpi3b and it's doing pretty kosher.
I went to relaunch syncterm and it didn't launch at all. No error
message, nothing I could find in /var/logs/ to glean why syncterm would
no longer launch. Callign the app just gave me a new line of the command prompt. I'm running raspberry PI OS, fully patched on an rpi3b in tty.
Even after a reboot, syncterm would no longer launch . So, I ran
meatlotion's script again and, voila, it launched normally.
If this happens again, I'd like to report good information for
troubleshooting purposes. Where should I look if syncterm fails to
launch again?
Daniel
