I don't know about "soon", but integration/use of a modern JavaScript engine is in the works.

There is still a lot to be done however.

that's NOT what DM said... sbbs, right now, uses the mozilla javascript engine for some work... the majority of stuff is done in C code, though... maybe look deeper and understand how things really work, eh?

I heard a rumor that DM is going to increase the precision of the minor version by a couple of digits. Retroactively, 3.19b will become 3.1900b, and we won't see 3.20 until after 3.1999c. A more rapid release schedule will be implemented, though, so if all goes as planned we'll get there around March, 2063.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you, but would you care to explain what awesomage you see in this and why? More specifically, what flavour of awesomesauce do you think it is?

(Also, in no way did he say that the whole BBS would be done in JS.)
