    that's a nice feature. how about adding that it creates the file if it's not present [if it doesn't already]

    that's a nice feature. how about adding that it creates the file if it's not present [if it doesn't already]

    Techically, sbbs already does that, if the text.dat file is missing it used the baked in text strings as default. But ya, perhaps an scfg or exec/sbbs -t option to recreate the text.dat file if it's missing.

    oh i didnt know when they started doing that. i just know when i screwed up my text.dat back in the day it would take a dive.

    Ya, not sure when it got baked in, I tested removing ctrl/text.dat on v2.30 and sbbs tanked, but on current versions if text.dat is missing it'll use internal . On the other hand, if text.dat is found and it has errors sbbs might tank or display unexpected strings :D
