order to be able to run TradeWars 2002 (and I've been seeing users playing t plenty of times).

I dunno diddly about this game, but I know it's huge :). Is there a big difference between the DOS one and the Javascript one? Do people prefer one over the other or can they even tell the difference?

PS: apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this stuff?

Yeah, this is the wrong conference for Synchronet technical support questions. --

The JavaScript TradeWars that I'm aware of xtrn/tw2 is "Trade Wars 2", not "Trade Wars 2002" - so there's a big difference between them (in size and features). There is not a JavaScript version of TradeWars 2002 that I'm aware of.

There's a Synchronet wiki article on how to get dosemu2 running:

    https://wiki.synchro.net/howto:dosemu2

And for dosemu1 if you're interested:

    https://wiki.synchro.net/howto:dosemu

Thankyou for posting these, I've had all sorts of issues getting v1 working so I will probably try with v2.

I thought dosemu 1 was actually not bad to set up. v2 was a little more work, but still doable.

Ah, thanks. I have a feeling I've just forgotten this info. So, if you want the actual TW2002 game that everyone love[d/s], you want the OG DOS one.

Or TradeWars Game Server, TWGS, (that's also TW2002).

Although the same game, I think I'd heard TWGS differs a little bit from TW2002; I'd heard some people still prefer the classic TW2002.

no, you want tw2002. it's different from tw or yankee trader.
a lot of people that like it just play it with those automated programs anyways. i used to have 4 of them on at the same time.

    there's also 'classic tradewars' twgs.

that guy had a partner and they were going to do a lot of stuff but i guess
    it fell apart.
