Re: Signifance of the QWK Name/QWK Conference Name?

Hi Everyone,
Is the QWK Name/QWK Conference Name simply a label?
It's a string that ends up in the CONTROL.DAT file included in QWK packets. That's it.
How is it different from the Short Name?
The short name is displayed to users on the BBS.
I wasn't able to find much on the wiki specifically around
this option in SCFG.
Did you try hitting F1 in SCFG while with that option selected? Here's very detailed help text displayed:
Sub-board QWK Conference Name:
This is the name of the sub-board to be used in the CONTROL.DAT file
included in QWK packets for display by QWK off-line readers.
For QWK Extended (QWKE) packets, the included Conference Names will be
automatically generated from each message group short name and each
sub-board's long name.
QWK Conference Names are not used in QWK networks.
I'm wondering where this is used and if its tied in
with any of the other config options?
Try using the help feature. Also, this is the wrong message area for Synchronet-support questions. :-)
