    OK, my books are in an actual, website based, e-commerce. If you are asking whether we can push the whole sales engine into the BBS universe, that is hard, if only because that means pushing payment processing into the BBS universe as well.

    I suppose you could pay via bitcoin and then have me send you the books or something of that sort.

    What would people be shopping for? Without instant images it may be hard to sell anything without being cumbersome to shopper.

    You *could* ... but short of HTTPS or SSH only, you're going to see
    hurdles to anyone using your system.

    For HTTPS it's pretty easy, easier if you use a 3rd party integration.
    For SSH/BBS, then you'll need to write your own code to integrate with a payment processor, and read up on the storage/security requirements
    (PCI). Even then, you may not get a payment processor that allows you
    to complete transactions with remote clients over SSH.
