We did our get together yesterday. I started cooking at 6am, everything turned out good even though I threw a pie across the kitchen but we
managed to save 90% of it. (My hands just randomly stop working it was
not out of anger or anything... just threw the pie).
Told everyone that's it for this year. Someone else can do xmas, as I
will do my best to pick up a shift at work for time and a half anyway.

Now that's living large! ;)
Mine was a bit more sedate. Went to one of my Nephew's with my Sister and Bro-in-law, joined a bunch of relatives on his side I didn't know and we feasted on turkey, cornish hens, prime rib, backed potatos, baked mac and cheese, various veggies (I skipped those), crescent rolls, and for desert we had white and pumpkin spice cakes.
the 8th and it's a 5 hr drive. i'll go back during christmas.
i'm stil sending presents all the time.
for thanksgiving i was going to do a pickup order at a restaurant in
town but i slept too late. so i just ate junk. good times!
sounds like rich people stuff aside from the mac and cheese. i'm
against having mac and cheese as a dinner item at something big unless
you have kids. i'm a mac n cheese snob.
Hi Jahmas,I'm glad the pie was not thrown in frustration. My wife made several apple pies for a bake sale and I reminded her that the bakesale was over. She almost cried! She said she had some leftover stuff and she had made a small one for me about 4" in diameter. It had somehow become disrupted in the baking process and sort of opened up in the middle and looked like a vagina. I laughed and said something to the effect that I "liked to eat pie!" She laughed so hard that she started crying. It was a good Thanksgiving!

Whole Foods. Picked up a Thanksgiving "kit" in the morning. Slide a
pre-cooked turkey in the top rack, sides in the bottom, and it all
takes about an hour.
We were busy in the morning, needed something to make, fast.

I just do a brine and then cook it in an oven bag. actually i used to
have a slow cooker that was big enough for a turkey. came out
great.
I don't brine. I just season it and rub some butter over it and under
the skin on the tiddies
Sounds amazing. I don't have the oven space for turkey and another meat.
Prime Rib would be amazing alongside everything else.
