There are some outstanding exceptions, but I am not
optimistic about our industry.
Spanish cinema is based on government handouts so Spanish
movies are the voice of the government because the
government pays the bills.
But I never thought the films represent "the voice of the
government". Some of those films are seem risque in spots.
If anyone would care to sit through to the end credits of
Canadian films, some bear the distinct acknowledgment to
government agencies that hand out grants for their production.
