When you agree to exchange mail with different networks then you agree to follow their rules like Fidonet. Using a alias name to post in most of the fidonet echoes is not allowed.

Don't let the banter you've been reading mislead you. From what's been bussing on the 'Net there is a new crop of people that are curious about BBS's.

Our privacy statement is very clear that the information you include during the signup process is used ONLY FOR ADMINISTRATIVE PURPOSES.
There is no functions on my bbs system that allows the users to list the last 10 callers and ONLY THE SYSOP CAN SEARCH THE USERLOG FILE.

Depends on your definition. ARAPANET started in the late 60's/early 70's. ARAPANET was limited and not open to the public. In the early 80's it was
The first recorded dial-up BBS was developed and brought online by Ward Christensen and Randy Suess using CBBS in 1978 and was open to the public.
